The mid-90s want their very useful website back
I received a letter from the Ministry of Land, etc. last week asking me to fill in a voluntary survey. Well, I don't know how voluntary it is, as they said they would call to check if it wasn't received by the deadline ;)
The interesting/useful thing though is what they do with the results.
There's a bilingual website that gives you access to historical anonymised prices for real estate sales all over Japan. You can click on the area you are interested in, or search by address or train line.
The design of the website is dreadful, and it took me a while to figure out how to use it, but the data is really interesting. It gives you a list of past sale prices for land, land and building, or second-hand manshon (condominiums).
Interesting and extremely useful for people looking to buy, I imagine.
